Zeenat M. Syed has served as the Economic Counselor at U.S. Embassy London since 2022.Ìý She previously served in Embassies Manila and Baku as the Deputy Economic Chief and Energy Officer.Ìý Her other overseas assignments include various political, management and consular positions at U.S. Embassies in Brussels, Tokyo, and Cote d’Ivoire.Ìý She has also served three years at the State Department in Washington D.C. working on trade and environment issues and covering the Economic Desk for Vietnam.Ìý Zeenat attended the University of Texas at Austin and joined the Foreign Service in 2001.Ìý She is accompanied by her husband, who is also a Foreign Service Officer, and three teenage daughters.
