Role SummaryÌý

Based inÌýLondonÌýUK,ÌýtheÌýSeniorÌýPolicy ManagerÌýis the core resource at ÐßÐßÊÓÆµÌýLondonÌýforÌýÐßÐßÊÓÆµâ€™s policy portfolio. This includes, the direct account management of policyÌýmember companyÌýaccounts,Ìýacting asÌýthe lead in activities aimed at members of the policy group, the administration lead on the policy group and the ÐßÐßÊÓÆµ Policy Steering Committee, as well asÌýresponsibility forÌýregular, ‘above-market’Ìýpolicy content. TheÌýSeniorÌýPolicy Manager works closely withÌýÐßÐßÊÓÆµ leadership includingÌýthe CEO, Executive Director London andÌýother members of theÌýNew York and LondonÌýteamsÌýwith the overall ambition and task to strengthen and grow the portfolio furtherÌýand attract new member companiesÌýon the strength of the policy work.ÌýÌýPolicy is at the heart of our work andÌýour reputation depends on being accurate,ÌývisibleÌýand relevant to UK and USA businessesÌýand governments.ÌýÌý

The role includesÌýa variety of responsibilities, ranging fromÌýresearch, writing, project management, liaison with companies and stakeholders, as well asÌýstrategic planning and oversight ofÌýdesignated projects.ÌýTheÌýSeniorÌýPolicy ManagerÌýis an integral part of the ÐßÐßÊÓÆµÌýteamÌýand he/sheÌýworks closely with all members of the teamÌýin LondonÌýand relevant counterparts in the ÐßÐßÊÓÆµ New York office.ÌýÌýÌý

 

ResponsibilitiesÌý

Account ManagementÌýand RecruitmentÌýÌý

  • Manage and proactively engage all policy accounts within the network to ensure high retention and engagement rate as well asÌýincorporatingÌýmember feedback into policy activities/work.Ìý
  • Proactively engage relevant non-member companies active in the policy portfolio to build a pipeline of credible prospects.Ìý

  • Manage andÌýtrainÌýPolicyÌýAssociate.ÌýCreate aÌýcollaborative, inclusiveÌýculture and environment for professional development and success with aÌýjunior colleagueÌýstarting their career in policy and trade.Ìý
  • Encourage proactive research,ÌýideasÌýand contribution to the policy content.Ìý
  • Oversee draft papers and research.Ìý
  • Monitor performance, annual leave, mid-yearÌýand annual reviews.Ìý
  • Delegate work appropriately.Ìý

 

ContentÌýProductionÌýÌý

  • Lead on the production of regular commentaries, briefings, position papers, and statements, reflecting core priorities of ÐßÐßÊÓÆµâ€™s policy portfolio (‘Policy Agenda’), but also ever evolving policy matters of interest to the ÐßÐßÊÓÆµ membership.ÌýÌý
  • Lead on the content production for relevant annual and campaign-linked ÐßÐßÊÓÆµ policy publications, particularly the ÐßÐßÊÓÆµ Policy Agenda and the ÐßÐßÊÓÆµ/ Bain Confidence Index. Lead/support on the fundraising for the policy portfolio (Policy Agenda or equivalent projects).Ìý

 

AdministrationÌýÌý

  • Lead on the administrative support function for ÐßÐßÊÓÆµâ€™s Policy Steering Committee.ÌýEnsure regularity, visibility and engagement, and lead on its expansion according to its criteria.ÌýÌý
  • Lead on the administration of ÐßÐßÊÓÆµâ€™s Policy Group, ensure all relevant contacts are up to date and organised according to relevance and interest.ÌýÌý

 

External Engagement Ìý

  • SupportÌýandÌýlead on the creation of events and programmes that support the production of content and/or lead to the production of content.Ìý
  • Lead on expandingÌýÐßÐßÊÓÆµâ€™s network of relevant contacts from external stakeholders, particularly in government, think tanks, trade associationsÌýand corporate public & government affairs.ÌýÌý

Media/PressÌýÌý

  • Contribute to any policy-related pressÌýinterviews andÌýreleases, external communication and press work, as required.ÌýÌý

 

Research & CounselÌýÌý

  • Act as a ‘to go to’ resource within the team for any relevant policy matter affecting companies in the transatlantic corridor.ÌýÌý
  • Provide counsel and support to theÌýChiefÌýPolicy & TradeÌýOfficerÌýand the CEO on current developments on policy matters relevant to ÐßÐßÊÓÆµ.Ìý
