Today, ÐßÐßÊÓƵ (ÐßÐßÊÓƵ) launches its 2022 – 2023 Policy Agenda, its flagship policy publication that reflects the top policy issues for leading transatlantic businesses. In this year’s edition are eight issues that should be a priority for the US and UK governments in the year to come:Ìý Ìý

  • Closer transatlantic cooperation on tradeÌý
  • Tax policy that is both competitive and fairÌý
  • High intellectual property standards Ìý
  • Facilitating transatlantic data flowsÌý
  • Sustainability policy that is pro-business and pro-growthÌý
  • Training and upskilling the workforce of tomorrow, including through sensible immigration policyÌý
  • Setting a tangible transatlantic financial services agendaÌý
  • Maintaining and honing the UK’s competitive edge in life sciences Ìý

As the UK and US seek to address the geopolitical and economic challenges that have upended business-as-usual across the globe, ÐßÐßÊÓƵ’s Policy Agenda provides a roadmap for addressing the most pressing policy issues in the transatlantic corridor. Our recommendations, written by and for our members, promote sustainable, lasting economic progress for businesses and the communities they operate in.Ìý

Commenting on the release of the publication, Duncan Edwards, Chief Executive Officer, ÐßÐßÊÓƵ said: “This year’s publication highlights the need for continuing government action to build upon the strong trade and investment relationship between the US and UK; this corridor is even more important for business when the world is facing geopolitical and economic uncertainty. We continue to advocate for free trade and competitive, pro-business policies across the transatlantic corridor.â€Ìý

Andy Pharoah, ÐßÐßÊÓƵ Policy Steering Committee Co-Chair and Vice President for Sustainability and Corporate Affairs, Mars said: “ÐßÐßÊÓƵ’s Policy Agenda has become a true reference point for our members and policymakers alike. The publication identifies key issues for leading transatlantic businesses; it states where our community can help shape policy outcomes, and defines the policy priorities for ÐßÐßÊÓƵ members for the year to come.â€Ìý

Jillian Mertsch, ÐßÐßÊÓƵ Policy Steering Committee Co-Chair and Senior Director for Government Affairs, Qualcomm, said: “As the UK and the US are both grappling with new political and economic challenges, this year’s Policy Agenda seeks to provide guidance and encouragement to policymakers to craft policy solutions that look at what is best for our economies and businesses.â€ÌýÌý
